Poll For Season 3: SQDM vs Squad Rush! - Cast your vote - Make decisions on your ladder.

Even though Season 2 has just ended, for season 3 we intend to strike while the iron is hot. The community ladder admins will hopefully give you a ladder unlike any other we have hosted before.

But as always, we wish for the community to play an active part in the decision making process in Season 3. This time around we are giving everyone the chance to decide which game mode we will all be playing in the next ladder.

SQDM Season 3

Squad Rush Season 1

It is your choice as to which mode we play! Go directly to the poll on the forums via the link here and cast your vote!

The choice however isnt a simple one - and the admins would appreciate it if you could read the full post on the forums via the link above.

Also, one other note to make:
This poll will decide more than just the game mode to be played. We feel strongly about the potential of the Aus BF:BC2 Community. However if we do not receive enough votes in the poll from the community, we will not be running the ladders at this time.

- Lylow AUS BF:BC2 Community Ladder Admin

HC SQDM Ladder - Round 1 News

The 2nd Season of The Battlefield Bad Company 2 Community SQDM Ladder got under way this weekend, and in the vast majority of cases it was an excellent start.

The veterans from last year knew what to expect and did their best to overcome the competition. And the new clans this season performed equally strongly, in fact of the 4 winning clans in the first round - 2 of them came from new clans to our ladder - so congratulations to them.

As always, a few teething problems arose, with a couple of the clans not knowing when matches were scheduled (we unfortunately had one clan miss their match entirely and therefore receive no points this round). We even had one instance of a clan not realising their captain had enrolled them in the ladder!

But these things always come about when a new ladder starts off, and are hard to avoid. The trick is to overcome them by the next round, and have all the clan captains and members fully aware of when matches start, and who they are playing.
As such, I'll remind everyone right now that each week the ladder admins update the forums allowing all the clans to know where and when they are playing. The link can be found here:

http://badcompany2.com.au/forum/viewforum/19

Check back onto the forums after each round and by Monday or Tuesday of each week, the information will be updated. Passwords and server names will be PM'd to Clan Captains only - it is the captains responsibility to then pass that information onto each member of his clan that will be playing in the scrim.

And as for the SQDM Round 1 matches themselves - excellent game play on a map thats a bit of an old favourite: "White Pass". Fairly close matches in many cases, but eventually JKS, AES, 50+ and GSO all came out victorious in their matches.
The exact ladder rankings after round 1 can be viewed here at any time. Also please note, the OGA clan has officially changed its name and will be now known on the ladder and the community forums as GSO.

So now, looking forward to round 2 of the ladder - we will be playing on Oasis from the new map packs, but for a full listing of which maps we will be playing on throughout the ladder - go here: Map Scheduling .

And so, once again congratulations to all our 1st place finishers in round 1, and good luck to all the ladder clans in round 2!

Cheers,

The Australian Bad Company 2 Community SQDM Ladder Admins

HC SQDM Ladder - Round 5 News

Well the ladder is almost at a close, so much so that the next weekly wrap up that I write will be written after the conclusion of the entire competition.

Round 5 on Nelson Bay. Night-time. Bushes. Hide and seek. Mixed in with 16 clans all fighting for the top spot. It sounded exciting when we planned it, and the round lived up to expectations.

This weekend gave us our closest result so far in the ladder when LMB won their match by a single kill. FTW down by a man couldnt quite equal the boys from Lick My Balls. Also another win to the dominant clan in the ladder thus far has given JKS their 4th win of the season. This win has also put them on top of the rankings and a point clear of the pack. And congratulations must go to clan RK who likewise came away victorious with their second win of the ladder so far tying them into 4th spot overall.

Our other winner this round deserves special mention as it came from an unexpected source. The ladder admins were given a pleasant surprise during the week when the O2K clan signed up to the ladder. They have very gratefully joined in the fun, even though they realise that their current placing rules them out of the higher ranked finishers.

The ladder admins have decided however to award O2K the points that uWs earned during their 3 weeks in the ladder as incentive for continuing on late in the comp.

So regardless of their lower rankings they are here to give us a run for our money. And they got off to an excellent start, wining in their first ever match in the ladder and earning a solid 4 points to their clan tally.

The only bad news to report is that the G3 clan were unfortunately unable to play in their match as once again the curse of the dreaded Daylight Savings Time became our undoing. I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone that all the scrim times are posted in Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time (AEDST) which means times are only displayed correctly for N.S.W, VIC and TAS. Times for other states then are MINUS ONE HOUR for QLD, MINUS 30 MINUTES for S.A and N.T, and MINUS 3 HOURS for W.A.

Overall though 4 excellent matches, some exciting finishes and plenty of action. We now head into White Pass for the last round of this seasons ladder. Scrim times and fixtures have already been posted here so please take a look at when your clan is playing and see if you can take bragging rights for the last match of the debut AUSTRALIAN BAD COMPANY 2 HC SQDM Ladder.

Cheers everyone, and good luck for this weekend.

Lylow - Aus BC2 Community SQDM Ladder Admin

HC SQDM Ladder - Round 4 News

Round 4 this week, and everyone's favourite map was on display. Who doesnt love a good snipe hey?......

What's that I hear? Silence?

Yes, I know that most of us cant stand hour long rounds that involve all the hugely varying elements of wookies in bushes, gillies in shrubs or recons' in the undergrowth. But every dog has its day just as every map gets to be played (at least in this seasons ladder anyway) - and this week we had Laguna Presa.

As ladder admins we all thought the clans did remarkably well. Lots of assault kits and medics mixed in with the ever present snipers, meant it wasnt all campy campy bang bang, so well done to you all. And we also thought that the matches were alot closer in many cases this week. Plenty of 1sts, 2nds and 3rds all separated by only a handful of kills. Good tight fighting and communication between squad members saw intense battles all over the map.

Unfortunately this weekends round was marred by the latest master server glitch, which saw a number of members from all the clans unable to join the server unless they shut down and restarted the game, often more than once. A few games started late and one or two teams had to go in short handed but a good effort made by everyone under difficult circumstances.

Also sadly we were unable to find a replacement clan for our 16th spot , as getting a clan to join any ladder in its final stages is never easy. We may be forced to leave one empty spot at the end of the ladder rankings - but at least this way no one finishes last hey! ...... boom-boom!!..... *crickets chirp*... is this thing on?

First place finishers for this weeks matches went to AES, JKS, FF and SoS. Its still extremely close between the other clans on the leader boards as well. We have a tie for points at the top of the ladder between JKS and FTW, and 8 of the top 10 clans are only separated by one win.

The ladder is still anyone's for the taking and a top 8 finish is still within reach of any clan on the entire ladder. So good luck to everyone next weekend in round 5, where we will be running around in the freezing cold and dark of Nelson Bay.

Cheers,

Lylow - Australian Bad Company 2 Community SQDM Ladder Admin

HC SQDM Ladder - Round 3 News

Week 3 of the ladder was wrapped up tonight as we reach the half way point of the competition.

And unfortunately I have to begin with bad news - we have lost another clan from the ladder. UWS have had to pull out of the ladder due to the fact that they have folded completely as a gaming clan.

With the dissolution of UWS, we will have a free space on the ladder and we will of course keep you informed of our efforts in sourcing a replacement clan. However in all honesty as we are at the halfway point of the ladder it may prove more difficult than last time.

But on to a brighter note, in the match reviews. We saw a difficult close map this week in Isla Innocentes that made movement and tactics slightly more critical than in past rounds. Well done to all those involved. And with the completion of the round we find ourselves with a new clan atop the leader board! FTW have pipped JKS at the post for top spot after a commanding victory in an otherwise extremely close 1st match of the round.

Other winners this week include AF in a 3 clan affair, FF in a very dominant performance and AU up against strong competition. A special mention to the Dr clan who, as most of you know, joined the ladder as a replacement clan at the end of round 1. Congratulations to them, coming 2nd in their match after a difficult round last week. Well played to all the clan members that took part in round 3!

Looking forward to round 4, as we are now one clan short in the ladder the exact fixtures for our next round will have to be posted later in the week, rather than later tonight. We can let you know however that next week for the 4th round we will be playing everyone's favourite jungle map - Laguna Presa.

And remember as always to see the current ladder standings for yourselves have a look here

Cheers,

Lylow - Australian Bad Company 2 SQDM Ladder Admin

HC SQDM Ladder - Round 2 News

Well another week down, and our second round is complete. Im happy to say there isnt any bad news to report in this weeks wrap up. Excellent matches all round and good sportsmanship and talent on display.

Well done to AES on Saturday night - a complete turn around from round 1, finishing 1st in their match last night after a slow start in their hit out last week. And a good hard fought victory to SoS in the 2nd match of the round, with the highlight from that match being a gutsy performance from AU. Playing under strength on a difficult map they still battled on regardless of the stiff competition. Kudos to them.

Earlier tonight some excellent teamwork saw FTW win through against their rival clans, which put them on top of the ladder mid-round. However the top spot after the completion of round 2 goes to JKS after a very good victory in the final match.

For a full listing of the ladder after round 2 head on over to http://badcompany2.com.au/ladder and check out how your clan is sitting.

The struggle begins again next Saturday night with Isla Inocentes as the map for Round 3.
